
The Nepali Communist Party (UML) has begun discussions on reports at its second general convention, currently underway at Sunrise Hall in Godawari, Lalitpur.
After the presentation of all seven reports at the convention, delegates were divided into 10 groups based on provinces, the valley, and central structures for discussions, according to Rajendra Gautam, Head of UML’s Publicity Department.
Delegates from the seven provinces—Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim—were grouped separately. Additionally, special groups were formed for the valley, various mass organizations, liaison committees, the diaspora, central bodies, and central office and departmental structures, making a total of 10 discussion groups.
On the first day of the convention, Friday, Prime Minister and Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli presented the political report, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel presented the report on proposed amendments to the party statute, General Secretary Pokhrel presented the organizational report, and Chairman of the Central Advisory Council Amrit Kumar Bohara presented his report.
Today, reports were presented by Keshav Badal, Chairman of the Central Disciplinary Commission; Dr. Pushpa Kandel, Chairman of the Central Audit Commission; and Dr. Vijay Subba, Chairman of the Central Election Commission, representing their respective bodies.
Under the main slogan “Decisive National Power Building is Our Resolve, Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali National Goal,” the second general convention of UML, which started yesterday, sees participation from 2,026 delegates nationwide, plus 315 organizers, totaling 2,341 participants.
