The parliamentary party of CPN-UML from the dissolved House of Representatives is holding a meeting today. The meeting is set to take place at 1 PM at the party’s central office in Chyasal.
Former Chief Whip Mahesh Bartola stated that the meeting will discuss the current unusual and complex political situation in the country, as well as the role the party must play to seek democratic and constitutional solutions.
Following the Gen-Z protests on Bhadra 23 and 24, the KP Oli–led government collapsed, after which Sushila Karki was appointed as the interim head of government and subsequently dissolved the parliament.
CPN-UML, calling the parliament dissolution “unconstitutional,” has been emphasizing that the House must be reinstated. Meanwhile, the government has already announced Falgun 21 as the date for the next House of Representatives elections.
