The District Administration Office Tanahun has adopted heightened security measures to ensure that the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21 is conducted in a free, fair, and fear-free environment. Considering the security sensitivity of the election, the administration has enforced a complete ban on the sale, distribution, and consumption of alcoholic beverages across the district starting from today, Falgun 15.
Chief District Officer Shivalal Tiwari issued a public notice stating that all types of alcoholic beverages will be strictly prohibited throughout the district from Falgun 15 until the final election results are announced.
He warned that anyone found selling or consuming alcohol in violation of the order will face strict legal action under prevailing laws. Security agencies have been instructed to strictly monitor compliance. The administration has also sought full cooperation from hotel operators, political parties, civil society, and the general public to prevent any unwanted activities during the election period.
Additionally, the administration stated that strict market monitoring will be conducted to prevent shortages of essential goods, abnormal price hikes, and black marketing during the election period. Petroleum dealers have also been directed not to sell fuel in bottles, considering security concerns during this sensitive time.
