Dr. Govinda KC has urged the government to keep the existing fees and seat numbers for medical education unchanged.
Issuing a statement, he warned that he would be compelled to launch a protest, including a hunger strike, if the government proceeded otherwise.
His statement read: “We are seriously concerned by reports that, ignoring our repeated calls to the government and the Medical Education Commission to maintain the current seat numbers and fees, a decision is being made to immediately increase seats.”
Dr. KC reiterated his call to the Oli government and the commission to refrain from increasing even a single seat or raising fees, warning that failure to do so would force him to resort to a hunger strike and related protest actions.
