Nepali Congress candidate Mohammad Firdosh Alam has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Rautahat Constituency No. 2.
According to Returning Officer Sitaram Khadka, Alam secured victory with 29,528 votes. He defeated his closest rival, Nepal Communist Party candidate Kiran Kumar Sah, by a margin of 11,086 votes.
Sah received 18,442 votes. Similarly, Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Sheikh Sagir secured third place with 9,325 votes. Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) candidate Ram Ashish Rai Yadav received 2,960 votes, while CPN-UML candidate Mohammad Atiullah secured 2,382 votes.
In this constituency, out of a total of 108,872 registered voters, 71,546 votes were cast. Among them, 66,144 votes were valid while 5,402 votes were invalid, according to the Election Officer’s Office. Dr. Alam secured a strong victory, leaving RSP and UML far behind and reaffirming Nepali Congress’s strong presence in the constituency.
