A drone attack has been reported in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.
The attacks come amid escalating tensions in the Gulf region following the war between United States–Israel and Iran that began on February 28. Missile and drone strikes have intensified across the region since the conflict started.
According to reports, two drones struck near Dubai International Airport on Monday, triggering a fire at a fuel storage tank located close to the airport.
News agency Reuters reported that civil defense teams were working to bring the fire under control after the incident. Authorities have stated that no human casualties have been reported.
Since February 28, Arab countries in the Gulf region have reportedly faced more than 2,000 missile and drone attacks.
The attacks have targeted not only U.S. diplomatic missions and military bases but also oil infrastructure, ports, airports, hotels, residential areas, and office buildings.
The UAE, which normalized diplomatic relations with Israel in 2020, is said to have been among the countries most affected by these attacks.
