Minister for Education, Science and Technology Mahabir Pun has requested not to be invited to any formal programs. Through a Facebook post on Monday, he urged organizers not to invite him as a chief guest, especially at inauguration or foundation stone-laying ceremonies.
He wrote on Facebook:
“I want to dedicate all my time to work and will not participate in unnecessary ceremonies. Please, do not invite me from anywhere to any formal programs such as inaugurations, foundation stone-laying events, or as chief guest.”
He also mentioned that he did not attend the UNESCO General Assembly in Uzbekistan and a conference organized by the British Council in Nigeria. Clarifying further, he said:
“Except for work of absolute necessity, ministers have not gone on foreign visits. Please do not spread rumors that I have been traveling abroad.”
