Kalikot, Aug 5: Eight people were injured in a jeep accident that occurred in Kalikot on Monday afternoon. The Scorpio vehicle, en route from Surkhet to Jumla, met with an accident in Manma, the district headquarters of Kalikot. Among the injured was a doctor working at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla.
According to DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat, chief of the Kalikot District Police Office, the Scorpio (Karnali Province 02001 Ja 0637) veered off the road and fell approximately 12 meters near Hotel Hillside in Khadachakra–1, along the Surkhet–Jumla section of the Karnali Highway.
Dr. Ruby Thapa, a resident of Pokhara Metropolitan City–29 in Kaski district, sustained injuries to her right ribs. She has been airlifted to Nepalgunj by helicopter for further treatment.

- 22-year-old Anjana Dhami of Naugad Rural Municipality–2, Darchula
- 26-year-old Chhotyang Tamang of Karmarong Rural Municipality–2, Mugu
- 35-year-old Devendra Adhikari of Kohalpur Municipality–8, Banke
- 45-year-old Kalpana Nepal Acharya of Mathagadhi Rural Municipality–1, Palpa
- 30-year-old Hikmat Jirel of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality–1, Dolakha
According to Dr. Jivan Pandey of District Hospital Kalikot, the remaining injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital in Manma.
