Eight people have died in a jeep accident at Lisne in Bafikot Rural Municipality-7 of Rukum West.
The accident occurred on Friday evening when a jeep (Ra 1 Ja 422) traveling from Khalanga, the district headquarters, to Syalakhadi in Aathbiskot Municipality-2 fell off an inner road section. Seven people died on the spot, while one person died while undergoing treatment at District Hospital Salle.
According to Hari Prasad Pun, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Rukum West, the deceased have been identified as:

- Sabita BK (28), Aathbiskot-2
A total of 10 people were injured in the incident. The injured include:

Nine of the injured are undergoing treatment at District Hospital Salle, while 18-year-old Juna Budha has been referred to Nepalgunj for further treatment.
Police said the jeep fell about 700 meters down from the road. Preliminary investigations suggest that overloading and a narrow road may have caused the accident.
