
Ramakant Chaudhary, elder brother of Nepali Congress Co-General Secretary Uma Kant Chaudhary, has passed away.
Krishna Prasad Paudel, Chief Secretary of the Nepali Congress central office, expressed grief in a condolence statement today over the demise of Chaudhary, a party leader and member of the Nepal Teachers’ Association, Bara, who passed away at Mediciti Hospital on Bhadra 6.
Born on Bhadra 15, 2013 BS, the late Chaudhary had been actively involved in the establishment and restoration of democracy. According to the Nepali Congress, he endured multiple imprisonments during movements and struggles for democracy and citizens’ rights.
Chaudhary played an active role in local, provincial, and federal elections. Having started his political journey from his student life, Nepali Congress stated that his demise is a loss of a promising personality for the party.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba expressed deep sorrow over Chaudhary’s passing. He offered heartfelt condolences, praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extending the party’s and his personal sympathies to Co-General Secretary Uma Kant Chaudhary and the bereaved family.
