The Election Commission has asked five candidates and two organizations to provide clarification over alleged violations of the election code of conduct.
According to the commission, candidates summoned include Balendra Sah from Jhapa-5, Hark Sampang from Sunsari-1, Kamal Bhusal (Nicholas) from Rupandehi-2, and Mahesh Basnet from Bhaktapur-2.
Balendra Sah has been asked to explain his reactions on social media to posts made by rival candidate KP Sharma Oli. Kamal Bhusal is being questioned for promoting shoes related to the Gen Z movement as an election symbol.
Hark Sampang has been asked for clarification regarding the use of children during his campaign and having them wear T-shirts with campaign materials.
Mahesh Basnet is asked to respond to allegations of making disrespectful remarks against fellow candidate Balendra Sah. Similarly, candidate Januka Pathak from the same constituency has been asked for clarification regarding a complaint about allegedly hateful comments against another candidate.
