The Election Commission has announced the schedule for political parties to submit their proportional representation (PR) closed lists for the upcoming House of Representatives election.
According to the Commission, parties wishing to participate under the proportional electoral system must file their applications between Mangsir 21 and 23. Applications must be submitted during office hours at the office of the Chief Election Officer, Bahadur Bhawan, Kantipath, Kathmandu, as stated in the public notice.
To participate under the PR system, parties must submit their applications in the format specified in Schedule-2 of the House of Representatives Member Proportional Election Directive, 2082.
The Commission clarified that the application must be signed by an authorized office-bearer designated through a formal decision of the party’s central committee. Parties that do not submit a closed list will not be required to register under the proportional representation category.
