The Election Commission has announced that the final list of candidates for the House of Representatives election, scheduled for Falgun 21, will be published on Magh 9.
According to Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, nominations were filed on Magh 6 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM across all 165 constituencies. He stated that as of 6:00 PM on the same day, 303 women and 2,352 men had filed their candidacies. The list of nominations submitted under the first-past-the-post system will be displayed at the respective election offices between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
The Commission will accept complaints against candidates on Magh 7 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and will examine these complaints between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The candidate list will then be published from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the same day.
Candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations on Magh 9 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The final list will be published by 3:00 PM, and election symbols will be provided to candidates between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
