The Election Commission has urged individuals who wish to withdraw their names from the proportional representation list to submit an application.
The appeal was made through a statement issued by the Commission’s Joint Secretary and Spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai.
For the election scheduled to be held on Falgun 21, political parties had submitted their proportional representation lists to the Election Commission on Poush 13 and 14. Candidates whose names appear on those lists and who wish to withdraw have been given time by the Commission from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Poush 28 to submit their applications.
More than 12 members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have announced their intention to withdraw their names. Similarly, five individuals from the CPN-UML have submitted applications to their party seeking removal from the list.
Those wishing to withdraw their names may submit applications in person at the Election Commission or through an authorized representative.
