The election for the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee will be held on Friday, September 5 (Bhadra 20). Lawmakers were informed about the election during Wednesday’s meeting of the House of Representatives.
The post became vacant after Anita Devkota Nyaupane resigned as Chairperson of the Hearing Committee on August 26 (Bhadra 10) following her election as Chair of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
Earlier, Ramhari Khatiwada had resigned as Chairperson of the same committee after an investigation panel held him morally responsible for maneuvering to remove the cooling-off period provision from the Federal Civil Service Bill.
