Both houses of the Federal Parliament of Nepal are scheduled to meet on Sunday. The meeting of the House of Representatives will be held at 11:00 AM in the multipurpose hall of the under-construction federal parliament building at Singha Durbar.
The agenda includes tabling a proposal to elect Dol Prasad Aryal, Vice-Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, as Speaker of the House. Aryal was elected unopposed as Speaker on Friday, and the House meeting will formally announce his election.
Similarly, the meeting of the National Assembly will take place at 12:15 PM. During the session, the Chairperson will nominate and reshuffle members of the thematic committees. The Chairperson will also nominate members to preside over meetings in the absence of the Chair and Vice-Chair.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Prime Minister Balen Shah is scheduled to present the Annual Report of the National Women Commission for the fiscal year 2081–82.
