
On the fifth day of Navratri, during the grand Dashain festival, Goddess Skandamata, a form of Shakti, is worshipped and venerated. In Shakti Peeths across the country and in homes where Jamara has been placed, devotees perform the ceremonial worship of Goddess Skandamata early in the morning.
On the first day of Navratri, Goddess Shailaputri is worshipped; on the second day, Goddess Brahmacharini; on the third day, Goddess Chandraghanta; and on the fourth day, Goddess Kushmanda. The remaining days of Navratri are dedicated to the worship of Goddess Katyayani on the sixth day, Goddess Kalaratri on the seventh day, Goddess Mahagauri on the eighth day, and Goddess Siddhidatri on the ninth day.
