
The fifth edition of the joint military exercise between the Nepal Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) is set to take place in Nepal from the third week of September.
The exercise will focus on counter-terrorism, military tactics, and disaster management. Named Sagarmatha Friendship, the joint exercise was last held in Chongqing city near Chengdu, Sichuan Province of China.
According to sources at the Nepal Army headquarters, intensive discussions are underway between officials of both armies regarding preparations for the fifth edition. The Nepal Army and the PLA have already agreed to hold the exercise starting from September 6 (Bhadra 21).
The joint exercise will run for 10 days. Both sides are currently finalizing details regarding the exercise’s modality, observers, and the number of participants.
