The final list of candidates who have filed nominations for the House of Representatives will be published today.
According to the Election Commission’s election schedule under the first-past-the-post system, yesterday was the designated day for filing complaints against candidates who registered their nomination papers.
The Commission said that after examining the complaints and making necessary decisions, the final list of candidates will be published between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm today. Complaints have been filed against five candidates.
According to the Election Commission, complaints were lodged against candidates from Bhaktapur, Sunsari, Rautahat, and Kailali.
The Commission also stated that on Magh 9, the final list of candidates will again be published between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. On the same day, election symbols will be allotted to candidates between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
As per the information received so far by the Commission, a total of 3,486 candidates have registered their nominations, including 3,089 men, 396 women, and one third-gender candidate.
