A fire has broken out in Ward No. 8 of Phungling, in the Dokhu area.
The fire reportedly started from an area known as Saptel. To control the blaze, local residents, personnel from the Durga Dal Gulm, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, municipal police, and fire engines from the municipality have been mobilized.
According to Ward Chairperson Kshitij Sunuwar, the fire began on Saturday afternoon. Houses in high-risk areas including SallerI, Kodar village, Rajaha, and Hiti have been protected from the flames.
Security personnel from the Nepal Army and Nepal Police have been deployed to safeguard homes in the Saptel Bhedawari and Ghumaune areas, while a team from the Armed Police Force has been stationed to prevent the fire from spreading from Hiti to Salimbe. Two municipal fire engines are actively engaged in transporting water and extinguishing the blaze.
Ward Chairperson Sunuwar warned that if the fire spreads further, it could reach Salimbe and put many more houses at risk, emphasizing the need for continued active control efforts.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam stated that a joint security team was mobilized immediately after receiving information about the fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
