Security sources confirmed that five people died and two others were injured in a clash at the Nawabasta Juvenile Reform Home last night.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Bhupendra Khatri of Dailekh
- Samir Thapa of Banke
- Umesh Bista of Achham
- Jagat Deuba of Kailali
- Dinesh Ghartimagar of Dang
According to reports, the confrontation broke out when inmates attempted to escape amid the nationwide Gen Z movement. Police intervened to stop them, leading to the clash.
The injured were taken to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj, where five died during treatment. Two remain under medical care.
Some inmates reportedly managed to flee, while others are still inside the reform home.
