Heavy rainfall has triggered devastating floods and landslides in central Vietnam, killing 41 people, according to authorities.
Rescue teams are continuing operations in the affected regions, working to save people trapped on rooftops of flooded homes. Over the past three days, several areas have received more than 150 cm of rainfall.
The Ministry of Environment of Vietnam reported fatalities across six provinces, while nine people remain missing. More than 52,000 houses have been submerged, and 62,000 residents have been moved to safer locations.
Landslides have blocked major roads, and around one million households are without electricity. Water levels in coastal regions from Hue City to Dak Lak Province are expected to rise by 0.3 to 0.6 meters, increasing the risk of further flooding.
