With the Tatopani border route closed for the past two weeks, the flying car—set to be the main attraction of the upcoming NADA Auto Show—has been carried to Kathmandu manually by porters.
According to MAW Vriddhi Autocorp, the authorized distributor of Deepal vehicles in Nepal, the electric flying car will be showcased at the NADA Auto Show 2025, which begins on Bhadra 3 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
The “Autonomous Flying Car,” developed by Deepal, a sub-brand of Changan Automobile, is also referred to as an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle. This marks the first time a flying car has been brought to Nepal under the Deepal brand, creating history in the country’s automobile sector.
The two-seater car can fly autonomously, offering a range of 30 kilometers on a full charge and a top speed of 130 kilometers per hour. Equipped with eight propellers and eight electric motors, it also features a multi-parachute safety system. The vehicle is expected to give a new direction to urban air mobility in Nepal.
