Mahabir Pun, who recently resigned from the post of Minister for Education, Science and Technology, has filed his nomination today as an independent candidate for the House of Representatives election from his home district, Myagdi.
Pun registered his nomination first on Tuesday at the Office of the Chief Returning Officer in Beni, Myagdi.
A resident of Nangi in Annapurna Rural Municipality–8, Myagdi, Pun resigned from his ministerial position in the interim government before submitting his independent candidacy.
Pun said he decided to contest the election as an independent candidate to reform impractical policies, rules, and laws, and to work for good governance, job creation, and national prosperity.
