Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal had recently claimed that former Energy Minister Deepak Khadka had fled the country after the government initiated an investigation into his property. However, Khadka has now appeared publicly and interacted with journalists from his own burned residence in Budhanilkantha.
In a previous interview, Home Minister Aryal had stated:
“We have fully mobilized the Department of Money Laundering Investigation. Some people have already started to flee. The former Energy Minister has already escaped, and others are also trying to run.”
Contradicting this allegation, Khadka interacted with journalists today from his house that was set on fire by protesters. During the conversation, he spoke about the current political situation in the country and expressed his views regarding the incidents of Bhadra 23–24.
Khadka’s appearance has raised questions regarding the Home Minister’s earlier claim that he had absconded.
