Police in Siraha district have arrested four individuals for their involvement in illegal drug possession and distribution.
Acting on a tip-off about drug sales in Siraha Municipality–1, a joint police team from the Narcotics Control Bureau Golbazar, District Police Office Siraha, and Ward Police Office Siraha carried out a raid and arrested the suspects.
During the operation, police stopped a motorcycle (registration number S.11 Ch 5485) parked on the roadside. Upon inspection, police found 24.820 grams of a brown sugar–like substance wrapped in plastic. The motorcycle rider, Ram Jeevan Yadav (25), and his pillion rider, Deepak Kumar Yadav (27) — both residents of Paterwa, Siraha Municipality–17 — were arrested.
Similarly, on the same evening, a police team from the Jhahapati Area Police Office stopped a motorcycle (registration number S.10 Pa 5326) traveling from Kusundi to Jagatpur in Navarajpur Rural Municipality–5. Upon checking, police found five ampoules each of Diazepam, Promethazine, and Buprenorphine in possession of Rishi Kumar Yadav (20), a resident of Navarajpur Rural Municipality–1, leading to his arrest.
All the suspects are currently in police custody for further investigation, authorities said.
