Four industries operating in Rupandehi that had been using electricity through dedicated and trunk lines have paid their first installment of outstanding premium charges on Monday.
According to Manoj Silwal, Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the industries — Panchakanya Plastic Industry, Panchakanya Steel Industries, Siddhartha Pet Plant, and Shyam Plastic — made the payment as part of the first installment of their dues.
After the payment, NEA reconnected the power lines that had previously been disconnected. The dues relate to the premium charges for the use of dedicated and trunk lines between Magh 2072 and Baisakh 2075 BS, Silwal said.
As per NEA, the total outstanding dues were as follows:
- Panchakanya Plastic Industry: Rs 2.463 million
- Panchakanya Steel Industries: Rs 5.219 million
- Siddhartha Pet Plant: Rs 18.3 million
- Shyam Plastic: Rs 4.91 million
The total dues have been divided into 28 installments, and the industries have now cleared the first installment.
