Four people, including three members of the same family, were killed and two children were seriously injured in a tragic road accident in Dhanusha district.
The fatal collision occurred on Saturday evening near Birendra Bazaar in Ganeshman Charnath Municipality–1 along the East-West Highway. A passenger bus (registration number Su.Pra. 01–001 Kha 3288) traveling from Biratnagar to Dhangadhi collided head-on with an autorickshaw (registration number Province 2–01–001 Ha 1230) coming from the opposite direction.
According to Inspector Laxman Tosi of the Dhalkeber Area Police Office, the victims who died on the spot have been identified as Dhan Bahadur Purvachhane Magar (40), Shambhu Purvachhane Magar (35), Nisha Magar (35), and the autorickshaw driver Dambar Rai (40) — all residents of Bharatpur, Ganeshman Charnath Municipality–1.
Two children, Sheetal Magar (14) and Roshan Magar (9), sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Neuro Hospital, Janakpurdham.
Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
