Nepal Oil Corporation has once again raised the prices of petroleum products, citing ongoing fluctuations in the international market.
The Corporation increased the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene, cooking LPG gas, and aviation fuel effective from 12:00 PM today (Chaitra 27, 2082) following a decision by its Board of Directors.
According to the decision:
Petrol price has been increased by Rs 17 per litre.
Diesel and kerosene prices have been increased by Rs 25 per litre each.
Cooking LPG gas price has been increased by Rs 100 per cylinder.
Domestic aviation fuel price has been increased by Rs 6 per litre.
As per the new price list in the Kathmandu Valley:
Petrol now costs Rs 219 per litre.
Diesel and kerosene now cost Rs 207 per litre.
Cooking LPG gas now costs Rs 2,010 per cylinder.
Domestic aviation fuel now costs Rs 257 per litre.
The Corporation claimed that despite the government providing a 50 percent discount on customs duty and infrastructure development tax, the financial losses have not decreased, forcing the price hike. Even after today’s adjustment, the Corporation states it will still incur an estimated biweekly loss of around Rs 7.81 billion.
