Joshi was taken hostage during the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, amid the Israel–Hamas conflict. He had gone to Israel for study purposes.
His body was brought to Nepal from Israel only on Monday. The Nepal Army handed over his body to the family at Dhangadhi Airport with a guard of honor. The body arrived along with a delegation of three Israeli representatives, including Israel’s Ambassador to Nepal, Shmuel Arie Bass.
