Nepal Congress central committee member and General Secretary Gagan Thapa has officially registered his candidacy for the party’s President at the special convention venue in Bhrikuti Mandap. According to the Election Committee, Thapa’s nomination for the President’s post is the only one registered so far.
Election Committee Chair Sitaram KC also confirmed that nominations for other positions, including those of central committee office bearers, have been filed. Meanwhile, from the institutional faction, Pushpa Bhusal has registered her candidacy for the post of Deputy General Secretary, bringing 30 central committee members along to participate in the special convention.
At the convention venue, leaders have also been submitting withdrawal forms alongside nomination papers as part of the election process.
