Gandaki Province Assembly Winter Session Concludes
The winter session of the Gandaki Province Assembly has been officially concluded.
Acting on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers and in accordance with Article 183(2) of the Constitution of Nepal, Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta ended the ongoing session effective from 12:00 midnight on Sunday.
The Gandaki Province Assembly Secretariat issued a notice confirming that the session was prorogued as per the constitutional provision that empowers the Province Chief to summon and end sessions on the government’s recommendation.
The eighth session of the Assembly had commenced on Chaitra 8. During the winter session, two bills were passed: a bill related to public health governance in Gandaki Province and a bill to amend the Gandaki Province Road Act, 2081.
According to Shashidhar Subedi, Section Officer at the Secretariat, two other bills are currently under discussion in Assembly committees. These include a bill to regulate cannabis cultivation for medicinal and industrial purposes and another bill concerning provincial food rights and food quality standards in Gandaki Province.
