Protests continued on Friday at Simara Chowk in Jitpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City-2 of Bara, where Gen-Z youth demanded action against those involved in assaulting members of their movement.
Gen-Z youths have resumed demonstrations in Simara, calling for the arrest of CPN-UML leaders believed to be involved in Thursday’s incident.
On Thursday, UML leaders including General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Mahesh Basnet, Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, and Suman Pyakurel were scheduled to arrive at the airport. However, a clash erupted between UML supporters waiting to welcome them and Gen-Z youths, creating a situation that forced the temporary closure of the airport.
Following the altercation, police detained two ward chairpersons in connection with the incident.
