Representatives of the GenZ Movement have called on all political parties and stakeholders to take part in the upcoming House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21.
Speaking to the media after a discussion with Prime Minister Sushila Karki and members of the Council of Ministers at the President’s Office, Shital Niwas, the representatives urged all parties to participate in the election process. They stated that since parliamentary elections cannot be held without the participation of established political parties, it is essential to make good use of the announced election.
GenZ Movement representative Miraj Dhungana emphasized that elections are a democratic process through which people choose their representatives. He expressed the movement’s desire for a free, fair, and transparent election.
“Everyone should participate in the elections. This is a democratic process — no one can stop it. Everyone has the right to take part. If the people choose you, you will be elected. New forces can also emerge through elections. Let there be fair competition — everyone should join,” Dhungana said.
He further added that the current Council of Ministers should include individuals who have contributed to advancing the street movement.
Meanwhile, at the call of President Ramchandra Paudel, a discussion was held on Friday between the government and leaders of political parties represented in the previous parliament regarding the upcoming elections. During the meeting, political party representatives stressed the need for peace, security, and a conducive environment for the elections, while the government urged all parties to actively participate in the electoral process.
