The government has called on everyone to participate in the national reconstruction campaign. In a statement released yesterday, the Ministry of Finance urged provincial and local governments, the private sector, domestic and international citizens, the non-resident Nepali community, friendly nations, development partners, and international organizations to make valuable contributions and join the campaign.
The ministry stated that the government has established a Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund and requested contributions from all. Donations can be made to account number 1960100102070004 at the Rastriya Banijya Bank in Singha Durbar under the name “Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund.”
The appeal follows the Cabinet decision on Aswin 5, 2082 (Nepali calendar), aiming to arrange necessary financial resources for the reconstruction of public and government physical structures damaged during the protests on Bhadra 23 and 24. The objective is to immediately organize and effectively carry out reconstruction and repair, economic recovery, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.
The ministry also noted that the “Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Committee (Formation) Order, 2082” has been issued to oversee reconstruction, economic recovery, relief, and rehabilitation activities. It emphasized that significant damage caused by fire and vandalism during the Janajati Movement has necessitated the establishment of this fund to support reconstruction, economic recovery, and relief efforts.
