The Office of the Government Attorney has ordered the release of Prabhu Bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ashok Sherchan.
According to Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) spokesperson Shiv Kumar Shrestha, Sherchan was presented for an extension of remand in three separate cases, but the Special Government Attorney’s Office issued an order to release him. “We had taken him for remand extension, but the government attorney ordered his release. Further investigation into the case will now continue while he remains out of custody,” Shrestha said.
Sherchan is currently undergoing treatment at Chirayu Hospital after developing health complications. He was arrested from the bank’s central office in Babarmahal on Mangsir 14.
