The government has declared a public holiday across the country today, Falgun 3, on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri.
Maha Shivaratri is being celebrated nationwide with devotees visiting Shiva temples to offer prayers, perform rituals, and seek blessings. The festival, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is observed every year on the midnight of Falgun Krishna Chaturdashi.
On this occasion, government offices, insurance companies, banks, and the stock market remain closed today.
Additionally, the stock market will be open for only two days this week. Although trading normally takes place for five days, three public holidays this week have reduced operations to just Monday and Tuesday.
The stock market will remain closed today, Sunday (Falgun 3) for Maha Shivaratri, Wednesday (Falgun 6) for Gyalpo Lhosar, and Thursday (Falgun 7) for Democracy Day.
