The government has formed a high-level political dialogue committee to hold discussions with various political parties and stakeholders.
A Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday (Mangsir 29) decided to form the High-Level Political Dialogue Committee under the coordination of Law Minister Anil Sinha.
The committee includes Minister for Communications Jagdish Kharel and the Prime Minister’s Chief Political Advisor Ajay Bhadra Khanal as members. Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel said the committee was formed to facilitate dialogue and discussions aimed at creating a conducive political environment and ensuring the smooth conduct of elections.
The Cabinet also decided to appoint Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha as Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission and Prof. Dr. Suniti Shrestha Hada as a member.
The meeting further decided to abolish the practice of affixing postal stamps as revenue tickets for document authentication in service delivery processes, except where mandated by existing laws, Kharel said.
Additionally, the Cabinet decided to allow Nepali or Indian citizens to bring or take Indian currency notes of INR 200 and INR 500 issued after November 9, 2016, across the Nepal–India border, up to a limit of INR 25,000 per person, according to the government spokesperson.
