The government has decided to form task forces in all seven provinces to improve the salary and service conditions of nurses.
A committee led by Dr. Shreekrishna Shrestha, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Health, has been formed to address the issues raised by nurses. The committee will submit a report within seven days.
The task forces will include representatives from:
- Nepal Nursing Association (Coordinator)
- Provincial Health Ministries
- District Administration Offices
- Protesting nurses’ representatives
These task forces will conduct field monitoring and prepare a report with recommendations.
The committee will also study the demands and concerns of private hospital operators and will submit its final report to the Council of Ministers through the Ministry of Health.
