
The government has fixed toll charges for the Nagdhunga Tunnel Road. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Shrawan 26 decided to set different toll rates for entering and exiting Kathmandu.
According to government spokesperson and Minister for Information and Communication Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung, cars and vans will be charged Rs 65 when entering Kathmandu and Rs 60 when leaving. Mini-buses and small trucks will pay Rs 115 when entering and Rs 80 when leaving, while buses and large trucks will be charged Rs 260 for entry and Rs 200 for exit. Heavy equipment vehicles will pay Rs 600 when entering and Rs 250 when leaving. Motorcycles will not be allowed to use the tunnel road.
The Cabinet also approved the National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy.
Additionally, it decided to approve 725 temporary officer-level positions for the fiscal year 2082–83 under the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security. These posts will be allocated to employment service centres at the local level, the National Vocational Training Institute at Bhaisepati, the vocational instructor centre in Butwal, and the vocational training centre in Itahari.
