The Hariharkshetra Mithila Chaurasi Kos Sankirtan pilgrimage team is set to arrive in Janakpurdham. At a press conference held at the Janaki Temple, the temple’s junior Mahant, Ram Roshan Das, confirmed the team’s visit.
According to Mahant Das, the five-day Sankirtan pilgrimage starting on Kartik 29 will include a special stop in Janakpurdham, the ancient capital of Mithila. The pilgrimage will begin from Hariharkshetra in Hajipur, Bihar, and will arrive in Janakpurdham the same day.
The team is scheduled to reach Bhittamod, a border point in Mahottari, at 2 PM on Saturday, where they will be warmly welcomed. From there, under the leadership of Janaki Temple authorities, a procession of saints and devotees will escort the group into Janakpurdham.
A grand welcome program, city tour, and various events are planned by Janaki Temple and the local civil society to honor the pilgrims. Following the city tour, evening activities including lamp-lighting ceremonies and cultural programs will be organized.
After Janakpurdham, the pilgrimage will continue through Darbhanga, Ahilyasthan, Patarpur, Simariya, and Bishaul in Bihar, before returning to Hajipur for the concluding programs. Over 700 saints, religious leaders, and devotees from the Mithila region of Nepal and India are expected to participate.
Mahant Das also stated that additional saints and devotees from Janakpurdham who wish to join the pilgrimage can register through Janaki Temple and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
