Harshal Jayant Pathak has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepal women’s national cricket team.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) appointed the former Indian cricketer Pathak on Tuesday. Previously, Pathak has coached the Thailand women’s cricket team.
This marks the first time the Nepal women’s team has appointed a foreign coach. CAN had earlier called for applications for the coaching position, receiving applications from 70 coaches from various countries. Pathak was selected from among these applicants.
Coach Pathak will now lead the Nepali team in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier. The global qualifier will be held from January 12 to February 1, 2026, at Nepal’s home ground in Kirtipur. The Nepali women’s team has already started its closed training camp in preparation for the tournament.
