The CPN (Unified Socialist) has split after the party decided to merge with the CPN (Maoist Centre).
Although the party’s Central Committee meeting approved the merger, senior leader Jhalanath Khanal and over a hundred leaders opposed the decision.
Khanal accused party chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal of steering the party toward a right-wing direction and announced the formation of a new revolutionary party.
According to Khanal, the party split after Madhav Nepal decided to merge with the Maoists.
“We will form a new Revolutionary Marxist–Leninist Party. This is not the time to unite with the Maoists; first, the party needs ideological purification,” he stated.
Khanal also claimed that he would reorganize the party und
