A hearing is scheduled today in the cooperative fraud and organized crime case involving Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane and former Gorkha Media operator Chhabilal Joshi, both of whom are currently in judicial custody.
According to Ram Bahadur Kuwar, Information Officer at the Butwal High Court, the case has been listed for hearing today. Earlier, the hearing had been halted twice after Lamichhane’s legal team submitted petitions requesting postponement.
Despite Lamichhane depositing the amount deemed his responsibility in the Butwal Supreme Cooperative fraud case, the Rupandehi District Court bench of Judge Narayan Sapkota had refused to release him on August 10.
Challenging the district court’s order, Lamichhane filed a petition at the High Court on August 25.
