Continuous heavy rainfall has led to the suspension of traffic on the BP Highway, affecting both entry into and exit from Kathmandu Valley. According to authorities, vehicles leaving the Valley have been stopped at Kavrebhanjyang, while those coming into Kathmandu via the BP Highway have been halted at Mangalatar.
The decision was made by security personnel after heavy rainfall in Bhakundebesi, Dhulikhel, and Banepa raised the risk of accidents and landslides. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport stated that vehicles will only be allowed to move once the rain subsides and the road conditions are assessed to be safe.
Travelers have been urged to remain patient and avoid unnecessary journeys until the situation improves.
