
Kathmandu, Aug 5: Heavy rainfall has been recorded in Dang, Banke, and Bardiya districts over the past six hours, raising concerns over potential flooding in the region. According to the Flood Forecasting Division, Banke received 160 mm of rainfall, Dang 156 mm, and Bardiya 143 mm during this period. Rain is still ongoing in these areas.
The division has urged residents in flood-prone areas such as Gangdi, Jalkundi, Kusum, and Sikta in Dang and Banke; Khajura and Belbhar in Banke; and Babai and Manpur in Bardiya to remain alert and take precautions.
Light to moderate rainfall was also recorded overnight in Madhesh Province and other parts of the country.
The Weather Forecasting Division predicts moderate rainfall in many parts of the country today, especially in Koshi and Madhesh provinces. Additionally, heavy rainfall is likely in a few areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, and isolated places in Bagmati and Sudurpaschim provinces.
