
Kathmandu – The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has stated that the monsoon trough is currently positioned around its average location, with additional influence from moisture-laden winds coming from both the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.
According to the Department, the weather across the country today will generally remain cloudy. Light to moderate rainfall is likely in some hilly areas and parts of the Tarai. A few places in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, as well as one or two areas in Koshi and Bagmati Provinces, may experience heavy rainfall. Additionally, very heavy rainfall is possible at one or two locations in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
For tonight, the Department has forecast generally cloudy skies nationwide, with moderate rainfall expected in many hilly areas and some parts of the Tarai, including Lumbini Province. Heavy rainfall is also likely in a few areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali Provinces, while Koshi and Bagmati Provinces may see heavy rainfall in one or two locations. Very heavy rainfall remains possible at isolated spots in Gandaki and Lumbini Provinces.
