Dense snowfall has been occurring in Baitadi since early this morning. Snowfall has been reported in the district’s high-altitude areas including Sigas, Khodpe, Anarkholi, and Dholyamoḍ.
Local resident Raj Bahadur Ter said that farmers are relieved, as the snowfall is expected to benefit winter crops such as wheat. However, daily life in the district has been affected due to the intense cold following the snowfall.
Similarly, according to a report from a Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) correspondent in Dhorpatan, heavy snowfall has occurred in Dhorpatan and other high hilly regions of Baglung. Continuous snowfall since last night has turned the Dhorpatan Valley and surrounding areas completely white.
Due to the snowfall, water has frozen in taps, and continuous snow has made movement difficult for local residents. Snowfall has also been reported in areas such as Rig, Patihalne, Khanikhola, and Nisel Dhor in Nisikholā. Along with the snowfall, local farmers have expressed hope for improved winter crop yields.
