Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is set to visit cholera-affected areas in Birgunj on Saturday, accompanied by a team of doctors from the security forces. The visit aims to assess the condition of patients infected with cholera and to coordinate necessary preparations for controlling the outbreak.
Although cholera cases have spread in Birgunj in recent days, the source of the infection has not yet been identified. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Minister Lekhak will also visit Narayani Hospital on Sunday morning to meet with patients, hospital administrators, and members of the Parsa District Security Committee.
Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa, Suman Kumar Karki, confirmed the minister’s scheduled visit. The minister’s secretariat added that medical teams from Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force will help facilitate the treatment of affected patients in the region.
Earlier, on Bhadra 8, the Central Security Committee meeting chaired by Minister Lekhak had decided to mobilize medical teams to support treatment and control efforts in cholera-hit Birgunj.
