Early this morning at 6:00 am, a house in Gaumul Rural Municipality, Ward No. 2, was completely destroyed by fire. The house belonged to 30-year-old Vishnu Rokaya. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ikwal Hawari of the District Police Office, Bajura, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit. The house, which had a thatched roof, was completely burned down.
DSP Hawari stated that a police team from the Area Police Office, Ghatmun, was dispatched after receiving the report of the fire. The three-story house contained clothes, grains, kitchen utensils, and other belongings, all of which were destroyed in the blaze. The preliminary estimate of the loss runs into several lakhs of rupees.
The police team has reached the site, and the District Police Office, Bajura, confirmed that detailed assessments of the damages are currently underway.
